We were staying in Glodok area. So it's a must to visit this cafe. The building were constructed in 1830s. We went there for breakfast. It was a hot day so we were greeted by friendly staff that show us the way to up stair & another staff join in to bring us to our seat by the window. Wow! This place brings me back to the 60s with soft oldies being played as background. Very little thing of this place is so vintage. Let's talk about the food. At first the menu were brough to us with all wording. The waiter realise that I need aomething with picture, he qiuckly brough an tab or ipad to me to show the dishes in picture. From there we ordered our meals & drinks. For us, meal were good but the drinks so so only. I remember seeing other order dessrt. So we go for Ogy Ice cream small with 7 scoop 😍 & also poffertjes. We really love this dessert. We sitted there nearly over 2 hours, just enjoying the surrounding & chill out & unwind. I would said this is the best place so far for my trip in Jakarta, just relaxing & enjoying my breakfast💕 Price is on the high side but you paid for the environment. Food is good, drinks - okay, desset - yes please.

The place is beautiful and iconic it really captures the classic old Jakarta atmosphere with vintage decor, high ceilings, and warm lighting. It’s cozy yet elegant, perfect for relaxing or hanging out with family or friends. I ordered Nasi Goreng Komplit, Mie Goreng Komplit, and Tuna Salad. The Nasi Goreng Komplit was flavorful and perfectly cooked, with generous toppings like chicken, egg, and satay. in addition Mie Goreng Komplit had that slightly smoky flavor and a nice mix of noodles, vegetables, and spices. i also ordered tuna salad, it was really fresh, and its dressing complemented the salad nicely. The staff were friendly, and the service was good once we were seated. However, the waiting list was quite long, so it took a while to get a table. i think this is the only drawback. Overall, Batavia Café is definitely worth visiting great food, a lovely ambiance, and an iconic place that truly represents Jakarta’s charm. i recommend this restaurant, especially for international tourists

The food was really good, and for someone visiting from Europe, it felt very cheap. You can smoke on the first floor, but it didn’t smell smoky at all. We waited about 10 minutes for the food, though it was Monday and there weren’t many people. The desserts were also delicious and made right there. The staff were super friendly and spoke good English. We came back about an hour later after a walk, they called us a taxi and even walked us to the car.

Café Batavia is such a unique restaurant with its authentic Dutch colonial building — it really feels like stepping back in time! The whole atmosphere gives you that nostalgic charm you can’t find anywhere else. Their cakes are delicious and properly made — definitely not disappointing. The price is a bit on the higher side, but totally worth it for the food and the one-of-a-kind vibes. ☕🍰🇮🇩

Café Batavia is a must-visit when exploring Jakarta Old Town. Once colonised by the Dutch, Jakarta Old Town has preserved its charming 17th century architecture and Café Batavia carries that same timeless vibe. ❤️ We stepped into a beautifully decorated space with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the perfect dose of natural sunlight. The menu is extensive and the food is so good. “This is the best Mie Goreng that I’ve tasted,” says me. The springy egg noodle is fried to perfection and not oily at all. I’m still thinking of the Mie Goreng now. 🥹 #tiramisoooo #tramisoooojiaks #jiakjiakjiak #cafebatavia #jakarta #indonesiafood #miegoreng #jakartaoldtown
